Red: Bacteria level exceeds EPA clean water standards for both current value

& geometric mean of samples collected over the last 30 days.

Yellow: Bacteria level exceeds EPA clean water standards for either current value

or geometric mean of samples collected over the last 30 days.

Green: Bacteria level below EPA clean water standards for both current value

& geometric mean of samples collected over the last 30 days.

Samples are collected by the Hanalei Watershed Hui through a collaborative agreement with the State of Hawaii - Department of Health and EPA's BEACH program.
All lab analyses are performed by Department of Health.

Color scheme reflects comparison with EPA standards of 30-day geometric mean <35 and

single sample value <104, rather than the separate state standards.
The State of Hawaii is currently in the process of revising their Enterococcous standards to match the federal (EPA) standards.
