Hanalei Watershed Hui Partnerships

Kayak Kauai contributes kayaks to the Hanalei Heritage River Program for all instream sampling and educational outings.
The US Fish & Wildlife Service is an important partner to the Hanalei Heritage River Program. Recently Refuge Biologist Brenda Zaun joined us for O'opu counts and Hanalei Watershed Hui Hydrologist Jan Surface was fortunate to spend a day monitoring albatross chicks and tagging adults at Kilauea Point.

Extension Specialist Adam Asquith

Dr. Adam Asquith has worked as a research biologist for the University of Hawaii, and endangered species biologist for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and as Wildlife Biologist for the Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge. Presently Adam is assisting community groups and government agencies in watershed management and stream and coastal conservation issues. He has experience working in all aquatic systems in Hawaii, ecosystem and watershed planning, and has worked with community groups, farmers, fishermen, hunters and multi-agency government groups.
