Coral Stress and Disease Assessment of Hanalei Bay:
In September 2004, Dr. Greta Aeby, Hawaii DLNR, did an assessment of the reefs of Hanalei Bay. Evidence of coral disease was found at all three sites with an average of 0.024 affected colonies per square meter of reef.  Types of diseases that were found included Montiporid White Syndrome and an unusual Montiporid Band disease.
