The Hanalei Watershed Hui has been very fortunate to have the expertise and effort of Sarah Henly-Shepard MPH, PhD assisting our community in the development of the Hanalei to Ha'ena Community Disaster Resilience Plan since 2008.
The Hanalei to Ha'ena Community Disaster Resilience Plan includes the Disaster Response Equipment and Communications Trailer.

response logistics trailer to the Wainiha and Ha'ena community in Spring 2020.

Hanalei to Ha'ena Community Disaster Resilience and Climate Adaptation Action Plan (2023)
The 2021-2023 update of this plan, originally launched in 2008 and published in 2014, incorporates resilient recovery efforts following the devastating impacts of the 2018 rain events, and a new climate change adaptation action plan. Due to sensitive information in the full community plan, this publicly posted plan does not have the community risk and resource maps, appendix, or how-to guidance specific for community disaster resilience leadership.

Climate Adaptation Action Plan (2023)
This plan is an addendum to the fuller Hanalei to Ha'ena Community Disaster Resilience and Climate Adaptation Action Plan (2023). It is part of a series of action plans focusing on preparedness, response, and resilient recovery. The purpose of this plan is to provide background on the history of this resilience planning process; introduce priority climate and other hazards of concern to North Shore Kaua’i, identifying impacts to-date, projections of future impacts, and recommendations for climate adaptation actions to address the causes and impacts of these issues; and serve as a resource guide to support community climate adaptation.
